Across Los Angeles County, tens of thousands of residents still live without stable housing. B.A.R.E.'s mission is to meet that crisis head-on, not through headlines or handoffs, but through consistent, human-centered action.
Every day, our teams work across encampments, motels, and interim housing sites to connect people with shelter, food, and long-term stability. We've distributed clothing and hygiene supplies to thousands and served more than 700,000 meals, meeting people where they are, without judgment or delay.
Our work has expanded into multiple interim housing sites that provide hundreds of beds each night, along with case management, meals, healthcare coordination, and pathways to permanent housing.
At its core, B.A.R.E.'s work in Los Angeles is about consistency: showing up, again and again, until someone's life looks different. It's how change takes root, one person, one meal, one safe night at a time.
As a service provider for the City of Los Angeles' Inside Safe initiative, B.A.R.E. works directly with city leadership to move people out of encampments and into stable housing, then stays with them through everything that comes next.
